WordPress Members List Plugin Settings

Before using the Members Plugin you may wish to change some of the default settings.

Changing your settings

To change your settings please:

  • Log into WordPress
  • Open the “Members List” tab (which is located at the bottom of the vertical navigation on the left of your WordPress administration panel.
  • Click on the “Settings” option in the “Members List” tab.

Settings Options

You have seven options available to you on this page.

  • Use a word other than “Members” on the front-end – This option allows you to specify a word other than “members” to be displayed on your member’s list page itself. So if you used the word “Clients” it would say things like “Search our Clients” instead of “Search our Members”.
  • Number of viewable members per page – This option determines how many members will be displayed initially when viewing the members page or when using the pagination to page through your catalogue of members.

Hiding Members

  • Hide email addresses from anyone who is not logged in – This option allows you to hide the email addresses of your members from anyone who is viewing your members list and is not logged in.
  • Automatically hide new members – This option allows you to hide members who sign up for your WordPress blog from the moment they sign up. You are then able to show them in the directory by editing them using the plugin’s “Edit Members” page.

Sorting Members

  • Sort the members list originally by – This option determines what field in your WordPress database the list is originally sorted by.
  • Sort members list originally in this order – This option determines whether the list is sorted in ascending or descending order. So if the previous option is set to ‘last name’ and this option is set to ‘ascending’ the list will be sorted by last name starting with the A’s and ending with the Z’s.

Display Options

  • Allow users to choose which lists they wish to be a part of? – This option when set to “yes” allows your users when editing their profiles to opt in and out of the custom lists you’ve created.
  • Gravatars – This option turns your members gravatars on or off. If set to off no gravatar images will be displayed when viewing the members list.
